This is fucking dumb. The closest German equivalent to a hot dog would be bratwurst in a bun with ketchup or mustard (or both, if you’re a bloody savage). What is shown here is not a common dish at all. Maybe they sell it at one fast food stand for tourists in Frankfurt.
How can you call something that doesn’t use a hot dog and doesn’t have a bun a Hot Dog? I googled a few of them. It seems like half of them don’t exist.
Is it dumb because it is not the closes equivalent? Yes.
Is it dumb because this doesn’t get sold frequently? No.
In Nuremberg we have the same thing, but it’s just multiple smaller sausages instead of 1. I’d argue you find the potatoes/kraut salad x sausage combo almost everywhere.
Or a Currywurst in a bun if you’re in Hamburg.
Bro I’m Brazilian and I’ve never seen a hot dog with those ingredients in my life… Parmesan? Wtf is pico de gallo? Sounds Spanish for some kind of pepper
Pico de gallo is vinagrete.
Yeah. We call that “vinagrete”.
Vinaigrette is also called vinagrete, don’t ask me why.
Oh, are you Brazilian or Argentinian? You would probably know better than me, but doesn’t that kind of vinagrete have vinegar and oil in it? Like this? I think it’s similar but different.
I’d call that regional variation of the same dish/concept. When I make it it looks more like the wikipedia picture for pico de gallo.
Ohhh…yeah is usual to have that in some places
Ohhh
Ohhh
I’m from Amsterdam, never in my life saw this thing.
This is a terrible one. It looks more like a menu from a novelty hotdog stand that just named their dishes based on some weird stereotype. I’m really surprised there isn’t a California dog with avocado on it (because apparently you can make anything California-style by adding avocado).
I would do unspeakable things for a peru hot dog rn
From everyone else’s responses here… I’d guess that whoever made this is from Seattle? And has a favorite vendor that makes them that way? No grilled onions? They usually do have siracha and jalapeno available…
Also they usually butterfly the brat. Cooks it faster with a much better flavor. The works at my favorite stand means cream cheese, grilled onions and sauerkraut. We have spicy items and sauces available self serve because not everyone likes them.
I always just considered a hot dog with cream cheese Seattle style. Banging.
The Chech Republic one is called French style in Poland.
After a bit of googling it looks like it’s called French everywhere. What’s called French on the picture doesn’t even exist. This whole diagram is made up.
The “French hotdog” (shown as Czech) was invented in Denmark in the 1980s. There are different claims of who made it first with minor details like how the bread is prepared. One of the guys claiming it also went on to invent the “double barrel french hotdog”.
AUSTRALIA Sausage placed diagonally on a slice of white bread, tomato sauce.
Whelp, I can now officially tick the box on my to-do list that says, “Find an image on the internet that unexpectedly makes you think about vaginas”
Your Rorschach test results sound be entertaining.
The “Kansas City” dog is not Kansas City… I’ve lived here my whole life and no KC dog has cream cheese… BBQ sauce and burnt ends or pulled pork with pickle slices… Maybe throw some fried onion straws or baked beans on that.
