    Honestly, the entire metro area is over 98.5% of totality. I don’t see it being worth it to drive for an hour, each way, to get that extra 1.5%.

      This is why I think an hour or so of travel is worth it to get that last percent of totality:

      Also, there won’t be a total solar eclipse in proximity to MI until 2099, so missing out on this one really limits your options in the future.
