    250 years. We had a good run, but no empire lasts forever. I’m sure the Greeks, Romans, Ottomans and Mongols thought they would be around forever too.

    • 250 years is the average runtime of empires, so pretty much on schedule. About three lifespans where the new generation forgets the ideals of the old generation until people turn into self serving pricks that sell out there own nation.

          My cynical side suspects there may have been enough dipshits throughout history who claimed a small patch of land as a “sovereign state” for a short while before losing it.

      I look at it more as like you’ve got that time to reckon with what your ancestors did to get you your cozy empire and try to make right, or else be crushed by the weight of their unrepentant sins

    I’m offended that the artist didn’t include Uncle Tom in that picture, too.

    The Uncle Toms of history need to be remembered and slurred against. Race traitors. Rats that need to drown with the sinking ship.
