MTG is a racist, antisemite and still rabidly far-right. She just left the Trump Train when it stopped working for her. Why are people still giving this batshit lady any attention? She’s not even in congress anymore because she stayed just long enough to be able to apply for benefits. She is scum.

I’m not going to debate the fact that she’s scum, but I think an important part of building a ‘resistance’ is helping to normalize those who once worshipped him but now see the truth. The only way we’ll ever have change is if we erode his base, and people like her show his supporters it’s okay to walk away from his rhetoric.

I’m curious who you might point to as a better example? I only ask because I can’t think of a modern maga style Republican who isn’t scummy. Then again I really don’t keep up with ex-maga so maybe there’s a better example I’m unfamiliar with.

She is scum. She has remained the same. She is also a tool. She was a very useful tool for maga and getting information to people that connected with her. She can still be a useful tool for getting information to people that connect with her. Many in maga are disillusioned.

I don’t trust them, but use any ex-maga you can to take the blindfold off others.

“I’m concerned,” Greene told Jones. “And he said it jokingly. But at the same time, knowing President Trump, I looked at that, and I thought, I don’t know if he’s saying it, joking.”

Trump does not possess a sense of humor. If he’s laughing when he says something be still 100% means it. His supporters will always claim whatever he said was a joke because they still don’t understand just how demented be really is.

The recent kentucky primaries are a clue to how they’re going to take the election. The ‘normal’ primary saw about $150k spent by the winning candidate. The kentucky primary saw over $32 million spent by the winning candidate. We saw Elon flood several electorates with about $300 million. So the consequences of the ‘citizens united ’ case, where your supreme court allowed unlimited spending by ‘corporations’, is reaching its logical conclusion with the mid terms and the 2028 election. Good luck, but I don’t like your chances.

There’s a good chance that backfires, and Kentucky ends up with a Democrat senator. They already have a Democrat governor, proving they will move left as a state. I’m not sure you can expect that in Louisiana, though.

This happened it 2010, when a bunch of Tea Partiers won their primaries, and then lost the general election, flipping a bunch of seats blue, and badly blunting the midterm boost they expected against Obama.

See kids, in order to make sure the president doesnt give in to his intrusive thoughts, you need to make sure to have decemt people in congress and the senate to keep his power in check… get rid of the self serving fucks in the primaries and the midterms…

Smfh. I suppose the only good thing about this is that we now have an example of a shitty govt to serve as a warning to future generations. Only thanks to ai, well have generations of voters who do what their feeds tell them to.

At most, the date could be altered if both houses pass a bill, but only up until December 31st, 2028. The states administer elections, and they aren’t going to withhold elections because Trump says. Some might, though that would only serve to disenfranchise the entire electorate within their state, as they’ll have no votes towards the election. This scenario likely leads to civil war and is very unlikely. State politicians want stability because it lines their pockets.

Presidential terms are limited, on Jan 20th 2029 Trump is no longer president. Regardless of any election having happened. If an election hasn’t happened, then the presidency goes down the line of succession to someone who is still in office. Without an election the House no longer exists as well, they all lose their seats at the same time, along with a third of the Senate.

That’s exactly what apparently too many people don’t seem to be able to get through their moronic heads.

Just because something is the law doesn’t mean it’s actually enforced. We’ve seen it so fucking many times with Trump. He breaks a law, a bunch of people yell “hey, you can’t do that!” and then look the other way, padding themselves on the back for standing up to Trump, who continues to break the law.

It’s like telling a toddler “if you steal another cookie, I’m going to be mildly annoyed”, and then hoping the toddler will stop stealing cookies.

Not only that, but he literally has no authority to do it. Elections are a STATE process, and he has no say in it. If a state decides to defy whatever method he uses to deny elections, there’s nothing he can do about it. What if every Blue state just had their elections anyway?

And this assumes that even Red states would go along with it. There are plenty of ambitious Republicans who can only move up if they can get elected, so they want elections, too. People are going to resign, retire, quit, die, go to jail, etc., and those offices need to be filled, and that takes elections.

Unless he tries to cancel JUST the Presidential election. That would take a special kind of stupid, but Trump never lets us down in that department.

Maybe in theory. But since Trump has control over everything, these rules could change, or nobody would enforce them. Russia, Hungary, etc. had similar legislation.

He could try forcing the army to attack US cities, that probably wouldn’t work well for a number of reasons. On the other side, states have enough National Guard forces that would not listen to an illegitimate president over their own governors. If it comes to that, the US is already cooked, and all bets are off on who wins.

This is assuming that military command won’t follow his orders, Democratic governors won’t instantly capitulate and/or that the National Guard won’t follow Trump anyway. The assumption that the National Guard will automatically follow their state government in particular is very flimsy, since Trump appeals to conservatives across the country. Even in a blue state you’ll find lots of MAGAts, and there’s nothing preventing them from joining the national guard. Do you have a source the NG is particularly left-leaning?

National guard troops aren’t strongly political, they do however follow chain of command. It’s not that they’re maga or not, it’s that their command structure hasn’t been purged by the regime, and every governor has already reviewed their command since Trump started fucking with the states.
