I kind of wonder if he realizes abandoning his citizenship means he’ll become instantly an illegal, having no document authorizing him to stay in the country.

Do they all just make up dumb shit knowing that the person they responded to is too fucking stupid to bother doing it? It seems this is their MO?

Just… Advice some bureaucratic psychobabble nonsense and move on to the next idiot? Or do they actually believe this dumb shit?

Even within the framework of SovCit, I do not understand how they expect to get a U.S. government issued passport while declaring themselves non-citizens. Honestly, if I put on my SovCit thinking fez, I could spin the denial of it by the government as a positive. “See the U.S. government didn’t issue me a passport which proves I’m not a citizen!”

This post isn’t even doing the “I’m an American national and not a state citizen” thing, which would at least track with trying to get a Federally issued passport.

Furthermore why would somebody who is declaring themselves a non-citizen even want a U.S. passport. It’s not like citizens of countries have to get documents from all the countries they aren’t citizens of to prove it.

And of course it’s for something scummy like running away from child support payment, which really shows the caliber of person involved.

I’m struck by how often these sovcits seem to be getting denied passports because they owe child support.

Is it just one or two of these doofuses vomming their idiocy all over Facebook, or maybe the whole sovcit thing is a common last ditch attempt to avoid child support judgements?

It’s just good to see that passports - or lack there of - is what prevents these people from coming to my country.

These numpties are in Australia, their stupidity has leaked and infested many parts of the world. I just read today of an Australian attempting to get out of a speeding fine of $180 using SovCit logic and was fined $1800 instead by the magistrate.

Now I’m thankful Australia isn’t apart of the EU… for the sake of all our common wealth.

Buddy pulled this back in my customer service days. Caller was hot, and being an ass. After we kicked him around a time or two to a “supervisor”, he was told:

“OK. I’m going to elevate this issue. We’re going to code this an ID10T issue. Can you write that down? That’s india, tango, one, zero, tango. Let me get this in the pipeline and you’ll get a call back.”

      “You damn well better!”

Not really. If you have money for a vacation, you have money to support your kid. When I worked in enforcement, I had a guy really call me and tell me that his fiancee’s parents paid for a honeymoon as a wedding gift so he needed to get a passport when he owed like $7k to his kids’ mom. Surprise surprise, he suddenly had the money when there was something he cared about on the line. I actually had several people manage to find large sums of money when their trips were on the line even though they’d all spent years claiming they couldn’t afford to pay.

It may not be a vacation. It could be death of a family member or work travel. There are all kinds of non-pleasure reasons to need a passport.

That doesn’t mean withholding your passport is wrong if you’re not paying child support. Stop being an asshole and pay for the kids you brought into this world and abandoned.

Oh yeah, I honestly agree…fuck a dude taking a vacation when he’s way behind on child support. But at the same time…iono…somehow denying a passport over that feels weird?

Fleeing to another country and not returning would make holding individuals who do owe child support much harder…

For me, the idea of the opposite feels weird… being able to get a passport when you are delinquent on child support.

It’s not like they are being denied health insurance or food stamps.
