  • I do think Linus should be held to a higher standard than the average joe, but yeah. IMO he should have done his due diligence to do things right. It was just very low effort for a guy whose professional life revolves around tech.

Some people go way too far with lambasting him though.

  • What’s notable though is Linus’ experience is likely to be very typical of an average non-technical Windows user’s experience when it comes to dealing with problems.

To seemingly lose the ability to read when an error occurs and then just try and slam it through regardless instead of pumping the brakes and asking for help is all too common.

  • If I didn’t have blood pressure issues, there is no way in hell I would subject myself to that BS 5/7 days of the week

You shouldn’t necessarily ever expect to enjoy doing something that you’re essentially forced to do. The gym is kinda like work for you so its perfectly reasonable that you hate it.

I love playing guitar and working on music but if I was ever forced to do it daily I would start hating it real quick. This is why I avoid monetization routes for my music that would require adhering to a routine.

When it comes to the gym, I’ve certainly gotten well into it to the point that it feels weird not to go. Same with running, but even more potent. I’d actually be in a shit mood if I had to skip a scheduled run for some reason.

Its a real bummer that you’re struggling to enjoy the gym, but I totally understand where you’re coming from. Life is busy and sometimes all that I have the bandwidth for is a beer on the couch after work. We all have our limits and that’s OK.

Glad to hear you’re pushing through it for the sake of your health. There’s likely no better reason to hit the gym. 💪

Its not so hard. If you see something you’re not interested in, use the “Not Interested” button in the video options.

If you’re constantly seeing channels you don’t like, use “Don’t Recommend Channel”.

Just rawdogging the algorithm is like speedrunning the path to depression. You have the power to change this aspect of your daily life. A few extra taps here and there can have a massively positive effect on your day-to-day.

I think most people don’t. I live in a small house with my wife, no kids, and even that gets overwhelming somehow. Some days are just lost to work, cleaning, and maintenance.

We do aim to have at least a couple of days a week where we don’t have to do anything at all. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t. When it doesn’t, it doesnt take long for burnout to set in.

  • The fact that I can simply practice and aim high and slowly crawl my way forward improving technique and skill. (Guitar)

I’m 30+ now and feel just as capable as ever to learn new songs, solos and techniques.

I recorded this video a couple days ago after about an hour of learning the solo from square one. Mind you it’s a solo I’ve been listening to for over 20 years and can hum it like its second nature. Lets just say I started from square two then lol
