I didn’t downvote you. I think the answer to that is that all humans everywhere, Americans included, want to immediately jump to whatabboutism to save face.

Why can’t Americans just admit that their country suck and leave it at that?
It’s a good question. Because our land is beautiful and a lot of us are working to keep it that way. Because we still see lots of people trying to come here for a better life. There are much fewer now, and a lot of us have deep shame for what the asshole in power has done to their communities. Despite appearances, a lot of us respect and admire them for taking the hard, unwanted jobs that nevertheless still need to get done. We still believe in what the Statue of Liberty stands for despite anything the asshole tries to do to it. Yes, we functionally conquered the world when we became the sole superpower after the Soviet Union fell apart. But we also led the world with science, inventions, entertainment, and aid. That’s lost now, and a lot of us deeply resent everyone who had a hand in ruining that.
We are still working to make ourselves better.

I am however doubting the numbers since there are no independent observers in this war. You can’t just unquestionably take one sides word for things.
The ICC has accused Maria Lvova Belova of being the person in charge of the child abductions/ethnic cleansing. They are neutral and independent enough for me.
A diplomatic peace treaty should obviously see a return of these children.
I fully agree.

Yes. You can call me an ally if you want, or not, I don’t care. I don’t have a need to be called an ally. I’m here, and I’m reading and quietly learning. I’ll support you, and go to bat for you when people speak badly of you. But I’ve got a bunch of other problems to deal with. Don’t ask anything of me beyond that.

What events (economic, numeric, territory, whatever) should I watch out for, so I know when to be worried?
Nota bene: A similar issue is when people have only one name. I had a coworker who was in the system as “Fnu [her one and only name]”. “Fnu” is not her name. It’s a hack meaning “First Name Unknown” by a system that mandates a first name and a last name.

A possible downside to this is that only legit companies will adhere to it, whereas scammers won’t include the assertion, giving people a false sense of security.
Of course they won’t, which is why not identifying as AI is itself a new class of fraud and should be added to the other charges and punished as such.

Obligatory mention that the yellow ink in particular is for printing the printer tracking dots.

The quote comes from long before this age of LLMs. We need robots (which do not spy on us) to wash our dishes and fold our laundry, freeing us to think and create.

Machines should work. Humans should think.

Nice. I once asked for a picture of Godzilla giving a speech at the UN.

Everybody now! “If the service is free to you, then you are the product!”

Good ole Expert Sex Change. I haven’t thought about that site in years.

Rule #1 “Remember the human.” These days, that presumes a lot.

I just call him the asshole, since he wants to be seen as an absolute dictator.

A plot point involving Antarctica is in there too that was completely cut from the movie.
Take the evidence to court. Otherwise, rumors and feelings of elections being rigged only help amplify the asshole’s Big Lie that it’s rigged.
