  • dwarfs what happened in communist dictatorship

    You’re kidding, right?

Communist dictatorships aren’t famous for being ecologically friendly, quite the opposite, really. One example that springs to mind is the idiot Chinese dictator that thought that birds ate too many seeds so he just decided that the entire country would dedicate itself to murdering all the birds. When all was said and done, millions of birds were dead, all the insects went nuts on the grain plants and China got itself into a famine that killed millions.

    That is a SINGLE example

Capitalism can be really really shitty but it doesn’t even come close to the horrors of communism

And yes, yes… Yes, I know, you will just either deny facts or just claim that millions of dead people is a good thing because of some mental gymnastics, but communism suuuucks. Wanna try https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_killings_under_communist_regimes?

    How about https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chekism?

Yeah, I know, it’s all whataboutism if you point out that for the hundreds of thousands of deaths that capitalism has caused, communism has caused tens, if not hundreds of millions of deaths

But down to the core, you seem to hate capitalism because of the abusers. I fully agree that these abusers are assholes that should be locked up. But guess what, though? These abusers exist in any and every system out there, including in communism! At least capitalism gives the freedom for us to call these assholes out, a luxury you won’t have under communism as by design it has to curtail freedoms.

So how about you look with an open mind at capitalism and communism (but not too open, don’t let your brain fall out) and try to understand that “capitalism bad, communism good” is just horribly short sighted and naive

Edit: to add to your point of “my point is that under capitalism…”, uneer communism they did the same. You had a richer class and the plebs. The fact that the current 1% is so much richer really shows the success and power of capitalism, people can abuse it harder and leech out more, so they do. How about instead of Communism, we do capitalism with taxes done right? Anyone with a net worth over 10 million has all the excess go to taxes, 100%. You’ll end up with people who are slightly richer or poorer, but nothing excessive. The state receives a shit tonne of money which it can use for a socialist system that protects everyone, free healthcare, free education, free housing, we can even do universal income! Sounds a lot better to me.

  • They are inherently bad. By design.

At the very basic level, everybody needs to execute eachothers transactions. This means that if a billion wallets make a single transaction that you end up with 10^18 transactions being calculated. To call it inefficient is the understatement of the year.

This, incidentally, is also the reason why the wallet data file is just ridiculously stupidly enormously big. I’ve been out of it for years now (minus the bit that I’m using now as an investment) but a real Bitcoin wallet required terabytes of data

All this culminates in Bitcoin using more electricity than a modern country to support a tiny fraction of the world’s financial transactions, something you might want to think about with climate change and all.

  • Crypto is not a scam, it’s just plain stupid.

The entire idea behind it is what a third grader might come up with and think it’s a great idea. It’s not.

It literally requires every connected wallet to process the same transactions as everyone else. Can you imagine doing billions of transactions per day this way? It is extremely inefficient and yes, this is one of the reasons why even the relatively low amount of transactions that Bitcoin processes costs more electricity than a small modern country.

It’s in a way comparable to a cpu doing 6+7 in a single CPU cycle whilst AI needs to burn down a forest to answer the same question

    Crypto is stupid.

I get what its trying to replace and i agree that the current system sucks as well for a long list of reasons, but crypto is NOT the solution. A fundamentally different system must be designed to be able to solve the issues that crypto is trying to solve
