It was actually closer to 155, but I started recording like 5km in, so I did an extra 5 just to get the full distance on the app.
My right foot is all messed up. It’s been about 6 hours since it ended, and there’s still bumps and marks from the skate and socks. Blisters and bruises.
I may try 200km in one or two years. In the odd chance that I actually go for it, that’s the most I’ll aim for. It’s just too much.
Holy shit, that’s a long trek.
Nice job and I hope you get your feet healed up.
I missed the K and thought you did 150m.
I see you’re familiar with my skating skills. After that I’d be out of breath.
I mean, technically I did 150m, then a bit more. haha
Wow, 150 km in 6 hours on just rollerblades is really impressive. I can’t even balance on roller skates!
It’s closer to 9 hours, the trip was 6 hours ago when they posted.
I do 9h bike trips and I’m pretty spent after, I can’t imagine riding rollerskates for 9 hours…pretty impressive, but Jesus…
Congrats, would be cool to see if you got any pics? Livestream for this would be cool, I’d watch in a year or two.
I recorded some parts: https://www.instagram.com/p/C7Lk7nqP0OP/
It’s got commentary and captions in Spanish, tho, so I don’t know if it’ll make much sense to English speakers.
So awesome, my Spanish is good enough to follow most of it. Felicidades!
I think it’s pretty clear you left out the epic part this was done overnight, presumptively, because of traffic–that makes it so much cooler! Dinner in the middle. Definitely have to have your route planned, the blacktop/asphalt looked super smooth from the sound of it, no wheel, bearing sound barely at all?
I’ve got some nice big 3 wheeler blades, I’ll come for 2025/2026!
What was the weather like?
They have an environmental contingency alert this week, I believe, where cars with license plates with a particular ending are prohibited from circulating in the streets, the next day it’s cars with another ending that cannot be driven, rotating 1/5 of all cars each weekday.
But on Sundays, I believe traffic is by itself much lower than on weekdays, so any and all cars are allowed to circulate.
WTF does this have to do with weather?
We started around 11 pm. I was still sweating while wearing shorts past midnight, because the heat has been awful lately, but it was okay until the sun came out.
I wouldn’t have been able to do it during the daytime with the current weather.
…casi… CASI a Xochimilco.
Wow that’s a crazy amount of time and distance. Props!
I did 100k over the course of a month last year for charity and that absolutely killed my feet. Didn’t skate till just a few weeks ago (mostly due to weather though)
