Rhode Island Is Trying To Ban Kei Trucks Again

After taking a few years off, Rhode Island is again trying to revoke valid registrations for imported Japanese kei trucks.

But why the decision to ban Kei trucks from Rhode Island streets? Because the DMV claims they don’t meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS).

        The driver is unprotected on a Motorcycle, the kei truck ban is … because it doesn’t protect enough the driver in case of crash.
        If you put the motorcycles on the same standard than the cars, none but a few would be allowed.

            Very small cars have a max speed of 50 to 80 km/h, cannot drive on highway, often doesn’t need a driving license.

            The kei truck have the size of this vehicule class.
