    I had to read this like 3 times before I realised what it was saying.

    Partly that’s on me and my sleep-deprived state. But partly…“overlooking” is not synonymous with “overseeing”. In fact in this case they’re almost antonyms. (Executives “overlooking” the film branch implies the film branch is actually really good, but the executives don’t acknowledge that.)

      And then as nouns, you can have a scenic overlook and a dangerous oversight. Still different meanings - but swapping which one means “excellent view of the thing” and “completely missed it.”

      English is fun.

      You triggered some deep rotted trauma from that one grammar teacher in primary school. Jesus there must be always someone, no trigger warning nothing. This is grammar for fucks sake not some cat pictures or happy family picnic. Heavy, gorey, meat grinding grammar
