Hope everyone is having luck climbing ranked!

This last week I primarily played Solgaleo/Shiinotic (deck list below) and was able to get up to UB4 so far.

I run the standard list with the exception of giant cape. I feel like it helps with Charizard matchups (lets Solgaleo survive 1 attack) as well as helping Shiinotic survive type nulls and Oricorio in other matchups.

I did play the new Type Null/Blacephalon and like some aspects better but kept getting unlucky starts so haven’t stuck to it.

    The GOAT

This is my new favorite card. Very similar feeling to when Darkrai EX came out. This thing just wrecks. This is probably the most I’ve ever wanted the gold version of a card. I need 2 of them lol.

I think I’m the only one who isn’t thrilled with Type Null decks. I’ve used them in both comp, casual, and PVE, and I always feel like it’s behind the opponent even when I’m winning. I haven’t had as much time for the game recently so I haven’t been grinding comp as much but there seem to be several strong decks in the meta rotation at the moment. The ones that I’ve enjoyed most have been based around Buzzwole, Charizard, Guzzlord, and even Lycanroc.

I’ve also had crappy luck with some of the lower rarity cards that are staples in the new meta decks, so that’s kept me from trying as many as I’d like too. Still, I’m enjoying the Ultra Beast meta so far.

I agree on the type null decks, it really feels bad when you go first since like you said you feel like you’re playing behind. Not being able to evolve and attack on your 2nd turn forces an awkward turn of either evolving and no attack or attack with type null and risk the KO or hand disruption.

I end up getting impatient and burn wonder picks to get the low rarity staples lol. I’m much better at saving my pack hourglasses than the wonder picks.

That’s what pushed me to the Lycanroc deck. It’s not the new hotness anymore but it’s pretty damn consistent. The biggest obstacle there is usually bad luck draws that leave you without Ramp when you need him. I’m still thinking I’d rather cook up something off-meta to make the run up when I have some more time to devote to the grind. The win rate seems pretty consistent no matter what I use, it’s just a lot of grinding.
