I’m back from doctor and supply runs.

Doc says it’s not too bad of an injury and to keep it covered with a dressing and take care of it.

The nail at the moment in theory should be ok as it wasn’t lifted up too much but still has a chance to come off.

Have to keep it dry and it was a nightmare trying to wash myself and keep it dry.

I also have a been given a few days off and only need to go back to work on Wednesday.

But of pain. No broken bones thankfully.

Fingers crossed it heals ok from here!

Edit: quite painful to walk around normally Argh

The real problem will be sleeping tonight. It’s quite remarkable how much toes get impacted by sheets, doona covers etc. I recommend rolling up a towel and securing it with string or masking tape or some such to put in the foot of your bed to hold the sheet up off your toe. Or a really thick book or some such item would do too. Source: the last time I ripped a whole toenail off by wearing socks with a hole in them on a day’s bushwalking.

I’ve got a fabric dressing that completely covers the toe so I might be ok with sleeping under the covers tonight but last night I had to leave one foot poking out.

It was cold to say the least.

Put a glove on it to shower. Thin healthcare type gloves work best. Don’t be a weirdo and put your toes in the fingers of the gloves, just use the bottom half of the glove to fit firmly around the front of your foot.

Ugh, I hate toe injuries. I hope you are not in pain for long. A toe injury + crappy weather = excellent excuse to cosy up and do nothing without feeling guilty!

        Same here, pain management first.

Last hour or so I’ve been on the couch and put my foot in aposition where no pain is being caused.

Now just listening to radio, phone calls and playing video games waiting for the footy to be on.
