Marble outdoor to internal hardwood. House built in the 60’s and i just spent ages clearing up old carpet tack and cement some dickhead had slapped over the floorboards.
It’s not even, but hangs around 3cm difference between flooring surfaces. The surrounding walls are original bullnose sideboards in spectacular condition, so would like to be sympathetic.
Ideas? Suggestions?
(Yes i’m treating the rot and putting in a moisture break between the cement and wood)
I’d be thinking something like 30mm hardwood tri quad to create a sloping transition (ideally something reasonably close in colour to the floor). Leaving a vertical edge on the inside seems too likely to end up with stubbed toes at some point.
Problem is, Quad is gonna look like complete arse against the rest.
STubbed toes aren’t an issue, there’s already a raise - previous to today’s works there was literally just a carpet transition strip and remnants of the old shit across that space, so we already had a vertical edge. We’ve lived with that for a year. (Our previous house also likewise had a raised threshold)
