“The plan as of right now, is to completely shut down I-84 for both directions from I-5 all the way to 205,” said Barrie.
It’s scheduled for 12 hours, from midnight to noon on July 14, a Sunday.
And it’s not just for graffiti removal. ODOT, the City of Portland, TriMet and Union Pacific are all coordinating to take advantage of the shut down time.
“Because we’re in the northwest, we get that rainy weather. It’s rainy because you can’t paint. So, we have to find areas that are covered,” said Barrie.

Absolutely agree. I can only imagine what a nightmare it is if you’re not from here. I think if you tag any DOT signage it should be a hefty punishment because it just introduces so much risk in driving. That one really sets me off.

Idk if anyone else saw when someone tagged “shit thy pants” over off the 84 interchange but that one still makes me laugh. I mean, I’m glad it’s gone, but I laughed so hard when I initially saw it, and my partner and I still bring it up months later.
