I have to have a car where I live. And while I love visiting city centers, I’m not spending my one life on this planet packed in like rats. Hell, half the lots in my hood were wooded and I’m not liking the dozens of new homes that went in over the past 5 years.
I’m no misandrist, not a bit, but as an old friend used to say, “I don’t want to look out my window and see my neighbor eating breakfast.”

You don’t have to. If you think this has to be the way to live without cars, you’re missing some information. It’s perfectly possible to live in a town or village without a car, with public transit, train services, and bike paths. This is a myth that needs to die if we’re going to try to shed just a little bit of our over dependency on cars.
EDIT: Anyway I’m not asking YOU to do it nor if it’s possible. I live without a car. Millions also do. If you think they are all miserable being living in shoe boxes, it’s your preconceptions.
