These are the ten I painted in the series. Thoughts or favorites? The two cottonwoods in the center and the autumn ash on the bottom left are mine.
I learned a ton doing this and had a lot of fun along the way. Who knew trees were so varied and intricate? Before this I didn’t think I ever really noticed.
How do you keep your paper from curling? Mine always curls when I try watercolor
By not using paper at all. These are all digital. I’ll add digital to the title going forward.
When we go open air painting the folks I paint with either use a much thicker pair for watercolor or they have a painting device that pins the paper down until it’s dry. A pleine aire painting kit.
I absolutely love the redwoods you painted
Thank you!
So awesome to see you continuously expanding your artistic horizon! My favourite is the redwood (?) in the bottom center.
Yup, redwood, and thank you!
I think the color choices in the redwood painting are the best of this set and I love the dappled light on the bark, which makes it my favorite by small margin. However my favorite one composition-wise is the center most painting.
Thank you, and I agree with your assessment. I’m still learning and enjoying this medium a ton.
