You could be the most reasonable person, having a completely valid reason to destroy everything and everyone in your path but the moment you show a bit of emotions bam you’re wrong, suddenly you’re the raging ape who’s foaming at the mouth and making no sense, “but you should control your anger! sign of emotional maturity” YOU ARE OUT HERE TALKING ABOUT THE FUCKING WHITE REPLACEMENT THEORY YOU ARE OUT HERE REPEATING VERBATIM NAZI PROPAGANDA THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN MATURITY YOU ARE A NAZI YOU WANT TO KILL ME EVERYONE I EVER LOVED AND 80% OF THE FUCKING PLANET.

I guess the kids nowadays call it being rage baited

I know this is a bit, but there is something to be said about the way fascist societies use repression of natural emotional responses to control its population and effectively numb them into putting up with horrors inflicted.

Suppression isn’t always a sign of emotional maturity, it can be a sign of emotional repression and dissociation.

Rage baiting in itself is pretty immature. It’s teenager shit, and a sign of a society grooming its youth into sadism and numbness.

I want you to know that I felt fucking seen with your post and assumed you were 100% serious because I’ve encountered this and run into it too.

Except I don’t care if the overt fascists say I’m being overly emotive or something, because I know they want me dead, they know they want me dead, and they know I know they want me dead. So there’s no reason to take them seriously. No, the “calm down you’re overreacting” that hurts is when people who pretend to be allies start tone/peace policing anger about colonialist and/or imperialist mass murder.

As for the bit thing: I have had a surprising number of white people I know IRL tell me that listening yo my humorous and obviously hyperbolic rants and bits opened their eyes because the jokes I made (about how things would look if we actually took the supposed American value of “all men are created equal” and applied it for real, well, you can see what the obvious conclusions would have to be after watching the entire political system murder innocent people outside the US decade after decade) were so funny, but also I wasn’t wrong.

Funny they thought I was joking. Sure. I was definitely joking and was not just expressing sentiments that everyone who isn’t a western chauvinist feels upon watching the West murder millions of brown and black people.

Yup. Lost contact with pretty much my entire childhood friend group because I called out a Palestinian friend of mine for working for a govt contractor raining bombs on his own people. Apparently you can’t criticize someone’s employment

Edit: I didn’t say it nicely and called him a zionist war criminal if I needed to be clear

Liberals: it’s extreme of you to be angry at imperialist warmongers.

Me: what’s your proposal for stopping imperialist mass-murder and trying to make amends to the survivors?

Liberals actively hugging their mass murderer buddies: whaddaya mean, we’ve already solved this disagreement, we could all just get along if Cuddlefish weren’t hell-bent on eating this heckin’ wholesome mass murderer’s beating heart!

I think an important too in this situation is venting. Think of it like ventilation in a room, to clean the air, but you’re venting your anger to clear the emotional stress.

There's a special tool that can help with this 'ventilating'.

Joke aside, you’re right, it sucks.
