Went to an interview
The team for this job is whiter than snow
Sat and waited super patiently for the interview to begin (because of course they were late. Seems common).
Had the interview.
Told I will get a phone call with an answer tomorrow.
Less than 90 minutes later, I get an email saying they chose someone else.
Why do I feel like this is a case of them already having picked a candidate but still wasting time anyway?

btw, the manager for this job has “dick” in her surname so at least I got to chuckle at that. I’m mentally 12.
Can I just say fuck cover letters. I understand the purpose of a resume, and it’s easy enough to write one up and use it for all the applications I send out, but cover letters are just another arbitrary hoop to jump through and I won’t fucking do it.
The one valid use-case of AI: to write a cover letter that I can’t be bothered to write and they can’t be bothered to read.
