Unfortunately, it accurately reflects public opinion. For at least the totality of my politically aware lifetime until this latest phase of the genocide, US popular opinion has been strongly in favor of Israel. It wasn’t until late last year that a majority of Dem voters were willing to opine that Israel had gone ‘too far’ in murdering Gazans - and even that didn’t translate into majority support for cessation of aid to Israel.
