Why would someone who supports vaccines do work for an anti-vax movie?
This happened to Kate Mulgrew, and a few notable physicists, in a flat earth documentary a few years ago.
They take out snippets of the narration and juxtapose them with segments the narrator is unaware of, making it look like they’re saying something they never intended to.
As an actor, they don’t have control of any of that so then you get this sort of thing.
Yeah I’m guessing that is what is going on here.
that was also my assumption. lower stakes example, but i saw some interview with an actor who was lamenting some absolutely garbo movie they were in and how, ultimately as an actor, you have to have faith in the directir and producers because you have a very narrow view of how its all going to come together. theres the script and your imagination, and all of that is subject to editing. you could think the movie is gonna be great, and then its this weak pile of unwatchable garbage.
i think this is where bigger names protect their reputation by vetting the other producers or coming on board as a producer and having more of an active role in production/editorial decisions.
otherwise, they’re just being hired as a body and a voice with puppet strings, even though the audience will generally assume they have more influence because its their face, voice, or completely jacked biceps.
