      The person is completely unaware of Epstein’s proclivities and thinks he’s a good guy for some reason, or at least neutral. Probably assumes that the files are something banal, and is horrified to discover what they reveal. The humor comes from the reader likely knowing at this point how despicable Epstein and most everyone that associated with him was.

      From the character’s POV, it’s kind of like sitting down and saying “Time to sit down and see what these Mr. Rogers Files are all about”

        Thanks – i couldn’t imagine someone knowing how Jeffrey Epstein is and also being completely unaware of his activities. That Venn diagram must be super small. The joke sort of makes sense – thanks for taking the time to explain!
