Apparently the cow uses different ends of the broom to scratch different parts of its body. That level of intelligence is usually only observed in chimpanzees specifically. Extremely smart cow.I’m pretty sure there’s a word for the smart cow but I can’t remember what it is. My recollection of the example is you could have 100 cows in an enclosure with an easily accessible latch and they’ll all happily stay inside, but every so often you’ll get one cow who is smart enough to understand how to open the mechanism and then they’ll all rush out. The smart cow will continue to open the latch and cause trouble but once it’s removed (presumably to roam free in a field?) the rest will go right back to business as usual as if the gate can’t be opened.
Now that I type it out they may as well call them Marxists.

i’ve noticed a lot of people do this too. i always do it, and i live by a lot of cows so it happens a lot lol
If resources weren’t an issue - id love to have a farm full of liberated cattle that just hang out and are cared for
same, i’ve had the fortune of being able to hug one before and doing that everyday sounds so nice

A formative experience in my ethical development (ie going vegan) was going to a family friend’s veal farm a few times as a child (before I knew it what that implied) and spending time with the calves. They’re the absolute sweetest critters and should be able to live the full lives they’re entitled to
You have two cows. They’re both a deft hand at tool use and scratch each other’s backs with rakes. They’re also hella cute.
