For context, I am referring to the fact that the “Licc’em Low Lisa” track picks on the officer’s (quite deep) voice, which leads to the suggestions she harbors a massive D, and the call for “someone to verify her vagina”, in a related Tweet. The suggestion that she is a lesbian is also used as an insult in both places.

I enjoyed the whole thing as much as the next person. But calling to verify genitals in this climate of gender policing is (at least) a grey zone, even given the context. And given the “implied transness”, then showing women running away scared from her, again, is not great in the current climate. (I mean the relentless narratives denigrating trans women as a threat to cis women and girls.)

Unless Ohio is the kind of place where the mere suggestion that a female LE officer working with children is trans is so hilarious, that the suggestion is unintentionally wholesome. But I can’t know that, since I’m not from there.

not the best source, but sure - even though Afroman explicitly said he doesn’t endorse Trump, he’s clearly open to the idea of hitching his wagon to Trump’s grift to boost his career ✅

I think it’s more relevant to me personally that he’s a Christian and that he’s making transphobic remarks - that’s enough information without pinning this all on weak and unsubstantiated claims that he’s a Trump supporter

At most I think it’s fair to say Afroman is willing to be associated with Trump and there is overlap between his target demographic and Trump’s.

True, but I have personally seen ex friends go from comments like his to not voting to voting for Republicans.

Yes, Afroman ran as a right-wing Libertarian candidate for the US presidency in 2024. Trump is a rival for Afroman (since Trump is also interested in getting those same votes, he also tries to pick up the right-wing Libertarian vote). Afroman wants to draw some of the same voters (and attract the same audience in terms of his business interests).

This is not like friends who become apolitical and then eventually Republican - this is a guy who is already Republican-adjacent and demonstrates plenty of right-wing commitments.

My point is that based on a single photo of Afroman with Trump, people on Lemmy are now claiming Afroman is a Trumper, but given the facts we have, we can’t really support that claim (as far as I am aware, at least - still wonder if he might eventually get on the Trump train).

That doesn’t mean Afroman isn’t a reactionary piece of shit who supports the very political culture that has victimized him.
