Simple as that, I feel a contempt in my stomach whenever I see an able-bodied person having fun at the expense of their disabled peer. They play loud music even though they have invited their peer who they get overstimulated by loud noise, people choose wedding functions over the birthday lunch of a disabled friend who they know struggled to get out of the house, people choose gifts for everyone except the disabled friend because that friend can’t be an accessory for them, disabled people aren’t chosen for anything they can participate but in but always chosen for things they can’t so they decline and these people can have an excuse, even eating their meals they struggled to make or get. I don’t know what to do in all honesty

I don’t have a solution, but I just wanted to say i feel this in my soul as a disabled person who hides it as much as possible to get into those types of opportunities
They definitely see us as less than human
A lot of it is from my own experience, inflicted by a single person in which I thought I was alone but turns out it is more universal than I thought.
Yeah, you’re not alone in it
I just wanted to exchange meaningful gifts, they still left me.
And that’s awful
