what’s the end goal here Zohran. ‘Socialism’ (actually social democracy) but with a roving gang of armed and organized fascists that we just ignore? are we just going to kick the issue of systemic racism down the road because it’s “woke 1” to even talk about, until it becomes a powder keg again? this is the actual internal DSA white chauvinism contradiction that MSM are clawing to find but they won’t use it as a real wedge because it’d increase the salience of Defund again

Without backing from an organized, armed movement, I don’t think it’s possible for a mayor to dismantle the police in any comfortable timeframe. Who’s going to enforce the reform? The police?

Mamdani and succs have 0 interest in forming such a movement so this defense falls flat. If such a militant left existed, they would work with the pigs to dismantle it, as they have always done historically

And instead of using his office’s platform to build the conscience and the state power to support the organization development, what does he do? He could advance the goal much more meaningfully by not dismissing and denigrating it.

Yeah he doesn’t even have to really do much aside from consistently educate and agitate from his platform until the masses demand change and are ready to fight for it. He is known as the social media guy, he could be doing a lot more on that front
