Why is the term “kidnap” being used in this situation? My understanding is that there is mass conscription into the army to defend their homeland. Do the people refusing to fight not believe in the sovereignty of Ukraine against Russia, or do they simply think that someone other than them should be fighting that battle?

There is no fair system; rich families’ children don’t fight, so why would other men be willing to fight and die? There is too much corruption, so men naturally doesnt want to fight, but it doesn’t mean they don’t like their countries. Corruption is the biggest enemy. The same problem exists in the Russian army. The majority of the Russian army are from poor families

Taking someone in against their will like that is kidnapping, irregardless of situation. Calling it an arrest doesn’t change that.

Whether it was right of them to kidnap him or not is a different thing, as are the whys behind it.
