**EDIT 2 AKA SOLVED: i changed my installation method from session to shizuku in the aurora settings, then i reinstalled the app and it works
**
EDIT: it seems like i needed to enable the play store, and when i did the message wasn’t there but it instead opened the play store and asked me to log in, which i won’t do cause i use aurora store
so i downloaded this app (link somewhere here) from the play store and it needs play services, and luckily enough i have it enabled with some permissions. BUT when i open it and wait like 2 seconds a message pops up that says “Check that Google Play is enabled on your device and that you’re using an up-to-date version before opening the app. If the problem persists try reinstalling the app.”
help plz
Simplest solution: Delete it and find a different launcher. There are plenty of legit launchers out there.
+1
Morphe has a universal “change install source” patch that may work
It’s also an app with only 5k downloads, you could try emailing the dev to complain.
Looks like it should just be some icon sets and backgrounds. Sad to say, effort is one of the prime trade-offs for privacy, and this developer has made clear on which side they stand.
Sounds to me like you will be unable to use that particular application.
aw man 😔
For me, MicroG is the sweet spot: it’s an open source reimplementation of the Play Services. I installed the app from Aurora and it works without complaining: check “LineageOS with MicroG”.
is it really play services fault? correct me if im wrong but isn’t there some way i can make it use aurora instead of the standard playstore?
Play Store and Play Services are not the same thing: the first is just the app store, the second is a set of tools that the apps can use to do things on your phone. Aurora replaces the Play Store, while MicroG mocks the Play Services.
