House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) on Monday urged the Trump administration to tell Israel to protect Palestinians being attacked by “lawbreaking settlers” in the West Bank.

“The ongoing siege of Palestinian homes in the West Bank by violent, lawbreaking settlers is unacceptable. Enough,” Jeffries wrote on the social platform X. “The Trump administration must compel the Israeli government to protect the lives, property and livelihood of innocent Palestinian civilians.”

Since the Israel-Hamas war began, Jeffries has faced sharp criticism from lawmakers and activists, who have called for more humanitarian aid to be sent to the Palestinians in Gaza and greater condemnation of attacks by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in the territory.

Last month, Jeffries was not among 100 other Democrats who voted against sending aid to Israel.
