A recent post in c/main has sparked interest in finding a new sidebar banner for our instance. The current one is AI generated, and was chosen by our users from a bunch of other AI-generated submissions. It has been three years since then. Also, the mood toward AI has shifted. Maybe it’s time for something new, and human-made?

    For the record, I want your lemming as our mascot rather than our banner. It IS our mascot, as far as I’m concerned and I’ll internet slap fight anyone who disagrees

      Thank you! I think it fits a lot better as the icon to the left of the sh.itjust.works title. And possibly the favicon, if it scales down well.

        I don’t think I’ve ever learned why it’s a seal, now that I think about it. I’m going to dig into our history to see whether there’s any particular reason

        Edit: I find this so, so modern internet. I’ll ask the question later as to avoid taking away from the vote, but the question was answered once before. Once.
