We did, however, have gender switch day during spirit week in high school.
Yeah. In the south nonetheless. Times have changed, eh?
Point being that while it was far from the most popular day of spirit week, there were usally a dozen or so girls that would go masc for it. And usually two or three guys. Usually, that was essentially booger drag, but every now and then, you’d get someone do it right.
Well, guess who did it as right as they could. Yours truly, obviously from the setup.
Did a nice blouse I borrowed from my mom, and a skirt of my sister’s. My makeup was kinda meh, since neither my mom or sister ever did a lot of it, usually just lipstick and maybe mascara; eye shadow for fancy things. So I stuck with that. Shaved well, threw on a bra with some padding, and off to school I went.
Back then, I usually wore briefs, and that seemed right for the skirt.
But this was summer in the south, and I had weightlifting after lunch.
So the boys were… almost dripping. Even after a shower and a makeup refresh.
World history class was next, and whilst lingering in the hall, the dare came. From Meghan. So to the john I went! And came back to class swangin’ in the wind.

First the payoff of Meghan being unable to keep from blushing and giggling. Second, the swish of cool cotton across things when I wiggled to prove the lack of briefs.
Third, the breeze. See this was the south in the early nineties. Weren’t no AC. It was open windows and ceiling fans. So when the breeze from either would get up the skirt, holy hells was it nice. Not in a sexual way, just in that refreshing way.
So, my brothers in mufti, if you got a sundress, wear that thang! Let the dingles dangle!

Where I grew up in South Dakota still has this as part of spirit week. Or at least it did 12 years ago (just now registering how long I’ve been out of school). It really never went over well. A few girls who opted to where baggy clothing, always that one girl with a suit. Even less guys joining in, but the ones that did were always super boring, a dress and a stuffed bra or something. I, being an emo kid, never partook in the spirit week nonsense, bit boy its crazy how anti-trans that town is, if someone didn’t know what was going on and you stopped at the gas station, one of the old guys wouldn’t be able to help but make comments, absolutely ridiculous.
It’s kinda crazy the it’s rural places that had this kind of thing, but are the most rigid with gender roles and norms.

We have a large Irishfest around me each year. Kilts as far as the eye can see. It’s wonderful.
