Just like 16 years old people can’t vote because too young, 80+ years old people should not be able to vote, most of them are too distant from everyday reality of younger people to be able to take a wise decision for the community and also often stick with (way too) old ideals from their years
What’s your cutoff for too old? Is an 80yo in good shape who could reach 100 too far gone? What about terminal cancer patients?
My line of thought was more “older people are usually more deattached from reality than younger people due to old age’s deterioration and generally they stick with old ideals” rather than “they are about to die so they will not care about what happens next”
On two feets i’d say that 80 is the perfect cut off, though it would take further research to determine a better age cut off, this also should answer the question about cancer terminal patients (and if it’s not too obvious: they can still vote)
If your criteria is detachment from reality then the younger generations should be banned for using tiktok etc. People with dementia shouldnt vote.
Yeah basically, it would get shitty pretty fast tbf due to it being easy to rigg, that’s why that opinion is overall very bad
