lol I do kinda love that the blowback on Sheeran is growing so rapidly. It’s well deserved, after that bullshit.

Edit: Wow, four supporting acts, including the act replacing Macklemore as the opener? That’s a major spanner in the works. Nice.

Ed Sheeran’s tour of North and South America was plunged into chaos Tuesday when four of his supporting acts abruptly quit in solidarity with the rapper Macklemore, who was dropped for making pro-Palestinian comments onstage.

Hours after Sheeran posted on social media about Macklemore’s ouster and attributed the decision to the tour’s promoters, Irish acts Aaron Rowe and Beoga, the Danish band Lukas Graham, and Finneas posted on Instagram that they were leaving the tour.

Sheeran could have avoided this by telling Kraft where to shove it. Especially if his feelings about Palestine are what his post is designed to make us think they are. There’s not many artists who can sell out a stadium.

Though it baffles me why. His music does nothing for me.

Hell he could have been just not a cunt and said “no I’m keeping him in my show” made no support and still made more money. That’s a fucking crazy response to a genocide to me still, but my point stands he choose to be a cunt for cunts and people shouldn’t want to work with him or pay him for that.

He should have supported Macklemore and forced Kraft’s hand…and then sued the living fuck out of him for breaking the contract. Instead, he pussied out and wrecked his career.

I doubt Kraft would have done what he did without contacting his legal department. I’m sure the contract has a bullshit “morality” clause that covers his ass.

I’m Gen X and clueless to popculture, always have been.

Never of the guy until yesterday tbh.

pop music is designed in a lab for the lowest common denominator. everybody listening to it would like something else more but those other things are too different for the wide swath of “good enough” that the machine targets

Right??? The eagerness with which so many people seem to want to appease and idolize billionaires is frankly revolting.

But that’s just American society for you these days, I guess :(

He didn’t want to take a stand including the stand to back up a band working with him.

Now he has no bands backing him up.

He could have stood up and cancelled the tour like a proper human instead he acted like a ghoul and it was cancelled for him.

    Fuck him.

Sheeran is worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Revealing himself to be complicit in genocide and the world’s largest pussy, destroying his career in the process, was entirely optional.
