Found. And feel slightly jealous of people that live places where lizards are commonly found, I basically only get to see my pet lizard or lizards at zoos, and while those are nice, it’s not the same as finding an unexpected one.

I moved 180 miles from my hometown and was astounded by the immensely expanded diversity of lizards (and similar) that I see frequently.

      Hometown:

      • Green anoles
      • Brown anoles
      • Five-lined skinks (rarely seen)

      Current town

      • Green anoles
      • Brown anoles
      • Five lined skinks
      • Cuban knight anoles
      • Scrub lizards
      • Glass lizards
      • Curly tail lizards
      • Green iguanas
      • Rock agamas
      • Basilisk lizards
      • House geckos

A wildlife spotting website says my hometown has a lot more of those species than I knew, but I never saw them there.

This is in central Europe, lizards aren’t exactly common here but there are a lot of them on my grandparent’s property. The downside is that these little guys are sneaky and not as easy to catch as spiders or bugs if they manage to get inside the house.
