Danny Trejo’s involvement with this is… Unexpected.

Also, it’s funny that they’d lie and obfuscate what the movie is about, because they know people won’t want to work for them. It’s like they know what they’re doing is despicable, and that’s why they’re trying to hide it in the first place.

Unexpected how though? Latinos skew republican pretty heavily unfortunately.

Though he does claim to be anti ICE and pro immigration https://www.tmz.com/2026/10/09/danny-trejo-speaks-out-on-ben-shapiro-movie-backlash/

        not heavily:

With 56 percent of the Latino vote, Kamala Harris continued the trend of Democratic majorities. However, Trump’s share of the Latino vote is a major improvement from his first presidential campaign in 2016 where he only captured 28 percent of the bloc’s votes and in 2020 when he captured 32 percent

Ah right I might be remembering wrong and perhaps it’s just in Florida.

He was blindsided by Shapiro’s involvement and is stuck in a terrible contract. https://lemmy.world/comment/26299853

Keep in mind he’s in his 80s, so he might not have been as investigative about the role as he would have historically been. He really just wanted to play the part of a good guy and jumped at it. Poor form from his rep.
