What was the temperature like up there?
It was quite cold and less humid. Lower-mid 60s I think (11.5c). Ground was mid 80s. With wind chill (you’re sitting in 25mph) it can get bad without a wind breaker and sweater haha.

What part of the country you flying in? Out here it’s all boring plains and mega airports, so I don’t really have an opportunity to do something like this. Do you carry a transponder and radio?
Wisconsin. No transponder, radio very very rarely (flying at airport).
Lots of the US airspace is uncontrolled, it’s pretty great!
