I like her comedy, but as a host, she laughs at shit that’s just not funny to be nice, I guess. It would be better if she didn’t laugh and give points, and instead challenged the panelists to do better. I realize that might not be the best strategy to attract guests, but if the roast battles can keep finding people, hopefully this show could too if the guests realized they needed to bring it, or get flamed
She talks about laughing on some podcast but I can’t remember which one. Anyway, she said that most comics don’t really haha/laugh out loud at great jokes, but will simply say that’s a great joke with approval. So being the host on tv she is having to train herself to laugh at loud at things. The show is scripted and the footage cut up post filming so some people/contestants are funnier but they couldn’t air it or their words were tempered by the writers/editors. Here’s one interview podcast with her and Conan https://youtu.be/qDkFXrS-P-8?si=t9MqFHltXbSm0ccG
I was actually super sceptical of both her and the show in general. I was a big fan of the original and wasn’t too sure about being on a “network” instead of on something like Comedy Central or someplace where they could be a little more risque.
But I was pleasantly surprised that CBS is allowing them to be a lot more blue than I thought they would. And Taylor Tomlilnson is ridiculously charming. I had never seen her in anything before and I gotta say, I unironically adore her. (get your mind out of the gutter…I’m old enough to be her father)
America needs 8 out of 10 Cats!
Taylor Tomlinson’s show, at Midnight is trying for it
When I first heard about the show I was fairly dismissive. Had no clue who she was.
Now I watch almost every night (even reruns). Taylor is such an awesome host. The guests are great. The show is non stop absurdity in the best way.

Just to be clear you’re totally allowed to find someone of any gender or orientation charming without people questioning your motives :)
Oh I know. But this is the internet after all…
