    Highly recommend everyone read some George Jackson. He was a very interesting theorist and a lot of the problems he was trying to solve just by sitting in solitary confinement are problems we’re still trying to solve today. Lots of insight, and easy to read.

    While I agree with the statement, America didn’t officially free the last Chattel Slave until September of 1942. Slavers just used a loophole in the Peonage system (and the fact that Slavery was abolished, not made illegal after the Civil War).

    So really, after the Civil War, the form of Slavery changed from officially approved of chattel slavery, to unofficially ignored chattel slavery.
