So how nasty are these things to humans? They seem like body horror nightmare fuel.
(I think I live far enough north to not have to worry about them but thinking about them still makes me a bit queasy.)

You’d be surprised. I biked to work almost all of November last year because we didn’t get snow until the very end of the month, and after that I walked a lot and took the bus lol.
I’d rather walk here in winter than anywhere in August back in Florida.

Or if you’re born into wealth, CEO is also an option!

I’m currently watching an Action Retro video where he’s messing around with Mandrake.
KDE had a setup wizard named Kandalf.
Oh hey it’s me crossing the road on my bike today as a bus comes barreling around the blind corner twenty feet away.
The US.
There’s a bill fresh out of committee that would put (most of) us on permanent DST. It’s got some bipartisan support and the Angry Orange has said he’s in favor of it.

Cursive is likely useful for developing fine motor skills at an age where that’s really important, it probably has benefits for general handwriting legibility while possibly being slightly less boring than just practicing print writing. I’m of the opinion that we should keep cursive, but integrate it into an expanded art class and add calligraphy.

Can’t, I’m in the bathroom producing an ai response.
There’s a metal cover of that song. I don’t know anything beyond it existing because I heard it in passing while biking to work last week but it made me laugh when I realized what it was.

What’s really funny is that I was friends with an older guy who got in deep shit with the FBI for selling bootleg VHS moves in NYC.

That’s kinda odd but probably not that bad, sort of similar to my college kid pad Thai: drained ramen noodles, peanut butter (ideally crunchy), soy sauce, and Sriracha.

It’s the Dominion voting machines they were harping on before, but I do wonder if they are less susceptible to tampering than others…
Oh so you’re the reason HCMC is bankrupt.

Knew a guy in high school who got expelled for not clearing out his car after a weekend fishing trip…

My city had the absolute worst one. Some bigoted pieces of shit ran a transphobic one around a pediatric hospital that has a clinic for trans youth.
I was strongly tempted to lose a box of roofing nails off the back of my bike.

I bought a cheap Pixel tablet and flashed Graphene to it a couple days ago. It was easier than modding my 3ds and everyone memes about how easy that is. It’s a bit mind-blowing (and maybe a bit concerning) that a web browser is capable of doing that though.

Shout out to whoever has been adding the bike racks in my area, you’re the best. It’s incredibly helpful information.

Very few people believe in leftism due to stupidity. That’s why it’s in Republicans’ best interest to keep people stupid.
I think as it is now leftism is an intellectual position, but historically I don’t think that’s always been true, when leftist movements saw more broad popular appeal like during labor organizing there were definitely dumb leftists.
The reason it’s in Republicans best interest to keep people stupid is that stupid people are much easier to propagandize to. Analyzing the information you’re receiving helps make you less likely to fall for blatant lies. (Leftists know we need better propaganda, but it’s also deeply cynical to think we need it.)
I was sitting outside of an anime con rave with some friends when people started streaming out of the rave in a hurry. Someone had set off pepper spray in the middle of the crowd. Never fully found out why but the two stories I heard were either that a guy got way too handsy with a girl or someone just did it for the lulz. (Either way it was a bad time for a lot of people and the paramedics had to be called for a few folks.)
