I can’t say for certain what they mean, but while their Trump coverage is solid, many people take issue with the way they are covering the Israel-Palestine conflict.
On another note, while I believe the John Kelly interview should be damning, if you believe it will make any difference you are living in a fantasy world.
That is literally what everyone else is saying. You are arguing with no one.
The problem IS shitty filmmaking. The specific examples of shitty filmmaking being discussed are pointless violence and pointless sex scenes that don’t contribute to the movie in any way.
Yes, I think that is what they are dismayed about.
You know who had an ark? Noah.
It’s incredible. The judgmental douchebag inside of me that wants to scoff at you for this, despite the fact that I did the exact same thing. Don’t really know why I’m sharing, just felt like I needed to tell on myself and hope I’m not the only occasionally insecure snob around here.
What is the name of this?
Power and Volume DOWN would make infinitely more sense for “power DOWN” function.
Dude. You keep making the same definitive statement over and over and then when asked to back it up, give this “who? what?” routine. Why anyone is even engaging with you, I don’t know. Yet here I am.
This is the most infuriating comment section I have ever seen.
I think we can stop calling it a dog whistle when they start just saying it.
It syncs things.
No but really, it’s Pretty freaking cool A tool you can use to automatically sync data across multiple OS with minimal interaction from you.
I can tell I’m going to like it here
No thanks, a little lotion and I can get myself off for free.
I just said to someone that Lemmy comment sections have a little bit of that Reddit 2014 vibe and here you are with the Reddit 2014 meme.
I am ashamed.
What? its not just “a person’s death.” There is a huge difference between your decision to commit a crime leading to an unwilling participants death and your decision to commit a crime leading to the death of your co-participant.
Let’s say you and I go rob a bank right now. A security guard starts giving us problems and I shoot him in the face. I should be charged with murder, makes sense.
Let’s say we are robbing that same bank. Same security guard is giving problems and I shoot him in the face. You can be charged with murder, I see the argument.
Let’s say we are robbing that same bank. Everything is fine and no one gets hurt, but as we are walking out a cop shoots me in the face. On what planet does it make sense to charge you with murder when I am the one who accepted the risk of getting shot in the face by deciding on my own to commit the crime? If you robbed the bank alone, you would have committed the exact same crime and only been charged with robbery, not murder, because I wouldn’t have been there and wouldn’t have been shot in the face.
I feel like that is a broad sounding date range that is actually pretty specific, and puts your 55th birthday some time in the next 5 months.

Got ‘em!
The second point was an aside, but the first point was the likely answer to your question. You were talking about the NYT doing a good job reporting on Trump but the person you responded to was almost certainly talking about their less honest, more propagandized reporting. I was offering the example of this that is at the forefront of everyone’s minds at the moment.
Not bickering, by the way, just clarifying.
