  • Wanna know how to pressure the DNC to pick a candidate you like? Go fucking vote for them in the primary!

Typically, the primaries get 1/10th the turnout of the general election. That means that a very small number of people can sway the primary. Go stump for your candidate. Make phone calls, talk to your family and friends and community, explain why your candidate is the better choice.

The lack of a primary in 2024 was fucking awful, but guess what? Chances are, there is a primary going on for your state right now, get to work!

  • Hmmm. That’s pretty wild.

I was a manager at a big box store for a while, and the general rule of thumb was to verify an error in pricing and then just mark it down at checkout for the client.

Usually, it was an old tag that was left up.

    Or

It was an ad that the customer misread.

I don’t recall there being a one-time price discrepancy law forcing me at penalty of jail to take 50 cents off a pack of pencils, we just did it because it’s better in the long run to keep the customer happy than it is to get in a fight over pricing. If there was someone who was serially abusing this hospitality, then we might have a talk with them, or ban them from shopping in the store, like when someone was stealing our discounted labels and then putting them back up when they were in the store weeks later.

    I also wasn’t in Massachusetts…

  • I had a laptop in 98.

Ran DOS, not even Windows. B&W screen, if you wanted color, you could press on the screen and get a glorious rainbow. There was no mouse integrated into the laptop. Instead there was a serial trackball mouse. It weighed probably 19 pounds and had an impressive 45 minute battery life.

It also may have fallen off the back of a truck. Computers were way less trackable back then.

  • Toaster oven is superior. I don’t mind the counter top space because it is a superior appliance.

Mine toast both sides, as there is a top and bottom heating element. It’s was better for reheating pizza than a microwave (takes longer, but the end result is way better). It’s really handy to have a smaller secondary oven when cooking big meals. I roasted a turkey breast in mine last year, while the stuffing cooked at a different temp in the oven.

    Super easy to do though.

Extend support for Windows 10 for the foreseeable future.

Wall up Copilot. Make AI integrations optional with granular control for each app and data source.

Double the technical staff at Microsoft and create a large team with the specific job of paring down system resource usage. It’s ridiculous that an operating system uses more resources at idle than Skyrim does.

Don’t even talk about 12 yet. Even better, annouce that Windows 12 is scrapped in order to provide more resources to fix 11 and support 10.

And… A little extra fun. Sell half of the RAM Microsoft has stockpiled while the AI bubble is still intact.
