Depends on if you’re going to go ahead and justify western imperialism because a former western proxy bit the hand that fed it.

35·2 months agoIt’s all the fancy (but profitable) wunderweapons the US military uses that are good for shock and awe, but not great at fighting a war.
That’s exactly what I was trying to say, thank you. The west just thinks “big boom = win”

53·2 months agoSeems theyre just talking about advanced munitions and ballistics, no? This is why the capitalists won’t win. They know a conventional war is deeply unprofitable and would be incredibly unpopular. Theyre in it to make a quick buck. Iran, however, is fighting for its very existence. And we’ve seen numerous times throughout history what the resolve of a people who have nowhere to go and nothing to lose can do.

19·2 months agoYep, I would argue Klanada is far more insidious because they are a lot less blatant about their racism ( on the surface, it becomes very apparent with even the sligjtest amount of reading) than the US but on average Klanadians are far more zealous or fanatical in their support of western imperialism/colonial tendencies.

Lmao wow, way to ignore the rest of the comment and copy + paste specific tidbits to form your own narrative. Talk about misreading
The US helped the Taliban for decades through pakistan. Then acted surprised when the Taliban rejected American imperialism. The Taliban hate anything to do with the west. And Pakistan is an American lapdog. What’s happening here isn’t surprising in the least if you actually understand.

Holy lib slop.
Big difference between offense and defence. Against the US, the Taliban were on the defence as an insurgency, the US on the offensive. Now it’s the opposite, the Taliban is on the offensive, trying to seize territory, and can’t be insurgents trying to ambush attackers.
First of all Pakistan declared war, and are the ones bombing Afghanistan. How does your mind translate that into the Taliban being the aggressors?
Second, the Taliban have major strongholds in both Afghanistan and Pakistan, they aren’t “invading” anything. The borderlands between Afghanistan and Pakistan have essentially been Taliban territory since before they were even the Taliban. These areas are also incredibly ethnically diverse. The nature of their struggle hasn’t changed beyond Pakistan officially declaring itself an adversary. At the US’ behest, no doubt.
The Taliban in Afghanistan also lost every single major battle/engagement vs the USA. They didn’t win a single large battle. They outlasted the US as an insurgency for 20 years despite that, while the USA pursued an always doomed to fail “nation building” plan. That’s how the Taliban won the war on a strategic level. This is very different from invading Pakistan, holding territory, etc. Unless the Taliban plan to bait Pakistan into invading and occupying Afghanistan, they can’t use that strategy.
That’s literally the purpose of an insurgency. Avoid large, pitched battles and wage asymmetrical warfare and engage in a campaign of attrition. Which they executed flawlessly and kept the US and NATO from achieving ANY strategic objectives of their own. That’s literally the very definition of a successful insurgency. Like, what are you even saying here lol
That’s what NATO said
The taliban also have a major presence in Pakistan itself so…this could get interesting. Taliban, the next nuclear power?

20·2 months agoWhich…is exactly the point, no? It’s the classic colonial imagination in action. The Saudis(UAE, Qatar etc) are western puppets, therefore, they are the only people who deserve a regional title and get to be considered civilized and a part of the in group in the ME. Everyone else are just barbarians/terrorists who just sort of exist on the periphery solely to be conquered and submitted to the will of “civilization.”

videos@hexbear.net•‘A Political Defeat’: Why Trump’s Minnesota ICE Crackdown BackfiredEnglish
12·2 months agoI disagree. This was just a test run for things to come. Now they know what they can get away with before people push back. So now they’ll just turn ICE into the next SS. There were no consequences for ICE’s execution of unarmed civilians. In fact, the Trump administration essentially gave the Green light for ICE to brutalize anyone who gets in their way and they are now expanding their scope of operations to online surveillance. If you get stopped by ICE for whatever reason and they know what you’ve posted on social media you’ll be going with them to a camp.
The withdrawal might be bad optics, and chuds hate bad optics more than anything. But trump and ICE weren’t defeated in any meaningful sense. And the Minnesota deployment was just a trial.
