Right? Aside from the Bullet bill and deny defend depose, I was particularly proud of that idea. Thought there was no way I could find a cheap used one but I did!

Pretty sure Vigeland and Majority report are all pro Mamdani to be fair.

Nah, Twin Snakes sucks. Putting a pin in the over the top cut scenes a moment (we’ll get to that): Everything about the game is watered down and lesser. The voice recording might be a higher fidelity but the acting is far more stilted and less on point. The 3D models might be higher in poly but they lack the crispness and polish of the PS1 art style and feel murky and flat. The Gameplay is literally broken. None of the maps or boss fights were built or designed with the MGS2 toolkit and it shows. Ocelot alone is an embarrassment.
As for the cutscenes: …ok they’re kind of cool on their own in isolation divorced from everything else. I think as a whole they are incongruous with the game itself and don’t fit the narrative or story but if you just watch like a you tube super-comp of them they’re a fun time. I don’t know if Monty Oum of RWBY ever talked about them but I definitely can imagine him as a young lad watching them and being like “That…that’s what I want to be when I grow up!!!”

My take exactly. From what I was able to find of Kimmel’s comments he wasn’t even making fun of Kirk’s death so much as he was (correctly) pointing out that the Trump administration is trying to use it cynically for politics. Even milquetoast ‘dissent’ from the jesters of our time is no longer allowed in the mainstream.

I am neither a doctor nor a firearms expert so take this for what it’s worth:
My layman’s opinion having watched the video is that if he actually somehow does manage to beat the odds and survive, he ain’t gonna be a person who makes a living by talking anymore.

Its been said so much its lost all meaning but genuinely unironically: Absolute fucking legend.

Something something “great firewall”.

Big piece of advice I would give is: pick up a new hobby. If you still enjoy your old/current hobby that’s fine but during heartbreaks/breakups I found myself spiraling lot because they were fun things I did either with them or at least while we were together.
New hobbies necessitate new neural pathways which is a big help in getting shit off your mind.

Easy there Joseph Campbell.

Okay, so I’m kind of speaking in ignorance because despite my embarrassing enjoyment of cape shit I haven’t yet seen the movie…but I am curious. I actually accept the author’s premise that Superman does have Jewish roots, but as we all understand here: Judaism and Zionism should not be conflated.
So I can’t help but wonder then: if the name of the countries in question were changed… Just what gave it away to this writer that they were talking about Israel?
If you recognize that they were talking about Israel and Palestine because it was a bunch of armed fascistic bloodthirsty well armed colonizers massacring farmers and women and children… How is that not straight up telling on yourself?

Not in the literal sense, but the author is correct that the character has symbolic roots stemming from his creators. Just consider Superman’s powers and his origin story as an infant sent, metaphorically speaking, down river as an infant wrapped in blankets to a far away land by his birth parents to avoid certain death.
This kinda weird shit is a big part of why I love star wars. If it were cannon that there’s a Chucky cheese style outer rim attraction with repurposed trade federation droids doing song and dance numbers it would be entirely consistent and on brand for the universe.
Hard agree. Hell even BB-8 is a really goddamn cool design.

There’s a flat to VR mod that really takes this to the next level. No motion controls but you can just straight up put on the headset and use the controller to walk around the world as you turn around and look at everything and just feel how alive and atmospheric the city is. Its awesome…if you can run it.

You’re not wrong…but isn’t it fucking wild how we’ve just totally normalized and accepted the idea that if you get a call on your phone and its a number you don’t recognize there is a 90%+ chance that it is someone on the other end looking to do and engage in literal crimes?

I think what the article is highlighting though is that while the material things he was offering are the primary reason for his victory…what’s genuinely wild and kind of a game changer is that its not even really accurate to say he won in spite of the third rail issues of Israel and antisemitism claims he was weighed down with. Its looking like there’s very little evidence to suggest that it even hurt him or had any impact at all. That should scare the shit out of the DNC.

Honest to god if you offered me like a 30% pay increase but I have to come into the office and do a 40 minute commute everyday…I don’t think I would actually take that deal. Speaking as a formerly single parent: work from home has been the greatest thing for my mental health and personal satisfaction I can honestly remember. Being able to clock in and out not only to get kiddo from school doesn’t just save a fortune on childcare and grief in logistics management but also as a guy who does programming its easy to go knock out a load of laundry or prep some stuff for dinner and let my mind kind of ruminate on the problem I’m dealing with. That means when its finally time to clock out for the day I was able to actually handle my household responsibilities and still get a little ACTUAL goddamn leisure time.

A lot of American soldiers, just like a lot of Americans otherwise, have main character syndrome.
There was a reddit post a while back from some troop who had regrets who really summed it up well saying: “When I enlisted I thought I was signing up to be Luke Skywalker. Instead I realized one day I was just another faceless Stormtrooper.”

I love the Republic!
Thanks! That idea was honestly my main inspiration. Everything else kinda fell into place afterward.
