My best friends (a couple) are more progressive than the average liberal but they VERY much fall into this pattern SO quickly if I cross the wrong line, especially with cars/infrastructure. They turn conservative real quick. Lad was running me home recently after helping him work on their new shed at the house she just bought, and got kinda crappy at me for not taking on a car loan.

They know my whole deal, I’m on a fixed income with the VA with a (thankfully) cheap mortgage but I’m not rolling in it.I get a bus discount, I travel alot on Amtrak to places like DC, NYC, etc and tend to do things on a whim around town BECAUSE I keep my margin free. But still, because HE got into an auto loan (he’s still not paid off because he refinanced once or twice) before both prices and borrowing rates skyrocketed, there’s no reason I couldn’t get a brand new car AND pay the premium insurance, AND pay for maintenance and gas.

He got outright snippy about it. Like bro sorry it’s just not high on my priority list. One day, but I get to the doctor and the grocery store fine and y’all help me the once every month or two I need new water dispenser bottles (which I occassionally pitch in on gas for and work around whatever we’re doing anyway together.) So I just don’t care.

Oh nobody likes the healthcare system except the people profiting from it and the people who think billionaires will love them and share if they sing their praises enough.

Thats the catch 22 of America, its “good” except when its not, and like 60% of Americans are one missed paycheck away from it being “not” - And once you’re there this country hates you and does everything it can to make sure you stay fucked.

(Because since pot is increasingly legal we have to bolster those legal slavery numbers somehow!)

There are days I just want Terry Crews to run as Camacho. Don’t know where he stands on shit but he can physically crush an opposing world leader and that seems like a start.

Voting Biden means working tirelessly to spread disinformation about third party voters being non voters who advocate for not voting, like a good little faschie.

Thank you so much for this perfect example where instead of recognizing somebody’s grievances you call them a Trump supporting non voter and preemptively blame your loss on them (but not enough to actually adjust policy to win those votes of course, thats not the fascist way!)

The left got so close to taking the DNC in 2016 they had to go to court to affirm their right to tell the left to eat a dick regardless of voters or donations, and now they’re pushing legislation to strip the red tape from taking away nonprofit status from leftist orgs. Dems are running scared and it has their faschie flag flying high (see op disinformation campaign claiming anyone who dislikes biden is a ‘tankie’)

Of course, even though they’ve spent more time attacking the left than they EVER have Republicans they’ll be happy to place the singular blame on us then march further right so they can shocked pikachu when the left doesn’t vote for them then either.

Biden has pushed plenty of problematic legislation to further dismantle and demonize anybody further left than mid right establishment democrats and third parties in general - plus continuing to not actually DO ANYTHING to stop the ones they claim to he the “last line of defense” from or to codify the issues they claim to protect - but y’all don’t mind fascism that doesn’t affect your personal status quo.

Email hosting is pretty cheap. Ive paid for email for a couple years now and use gmail for almost nothing except junkier things.
