I don’t think I need to say this but you should not go cracking people’s eggs, it’s misgendering and disrespectful and also violates the Egg prime directive. Respect people as the gender they claim to identify as until they say otherwise.
Orientation: Aromantic Asexual (AroAce)
Identity + Gender Modality: Agender + Isogender (Please note I don’t identify as cis or Trans)
Pronouns: Use any, Idc, *mostly doesn’t really matter to me (just not it/its).

@Caitlyynn@lemmy.blahaj.zone Heads up, I got a report from someone seemingly saying that you’re misgendering the OP by calling them sis. You’re not in trouble because it doesn’t seem to come from a place of malice but we do take gatekeeping and misgendering very seriously here, which is why I’m messaging you about this.
Exactly, it is a personal journey, only the person can discover themselves, people can’t do it for them.
Ah yes, that does make sense.
Well technically I’m not an egg and never really was one, I just never really had a gender (it’s called Agender) but thank you. Better to be a good egg than a bad egg.
Hey everyone just to clarify, your actions do not semantically affect your gender identity outside of the way you identify, your gender identity is determined by the way you identify to yourself. So don’t worry about certain actions making you trans or making you not trans. The only thing that changes whether you’re trans or not is how you identify (including the gender modality you identify under).
Yeah, gender stereotypes are kinda dumb. Especially the hair length thing, why is it seen as feminine to have long hair, or masculine to have short hair. Our hair grows at the same rate regardless of gender, and before scissors everyone just had long hair, so why is there such a focus on it anyway?
IMO It is not possible to fake gender identity, for that there would need to be provisions to selectively invalidate people for how they claim to identify. This is not compatible with the idea that the way people identify as being valid, because it introduces scenarios where you can override this and say they aren’t valid.
On the opposite side of the spectrum this also means that it is disgustingly unethical to try and call people out as being “in-denial” or an “egg” for their violations against gender norms, that would be going against their stated identity and invalidating it.
If the idea that gender identity is valid and should be respected holds true these points of invalidation are just as wrong or hurtful as any form of invalidation, and such cannot be justified, a person isn’t “pretending to be [gender]” nor are they an “egg”, what they say is final until they say otherwise, and that is how it should be, because if people can be invalidated in these situation, they can be invalidated in others by making it seem like they are these situations. This already happens by people saying trans people are faking it, or by saying fem presenting transmascs and enbies are really girls in denial.
I feel like the way they included stop portions on the masculine side they should’ve also included a stop portion on the feminine side because femboys are valid too, and aren’t just “trans girls in-denial” like is often said about us.
Whoops, thought this was one of those NonBinary or otherkin moments (you know the ones about wanting to shed one’s mortal flesh and become an etherial being). Should’ve probably been obvious to me though.
I don’t think it’s possible to not have flesh unless you’re a robot. I don’t think it will ever be possible to get rid of all your flesh but maybe in the future there will be technology to get rid of most of it and replace it with synthetic parts, tough at most the brain is one thing that can’t really be replaced with a robotic equivalent.
Hey wait where are the socks? No thigh high socks here 🥺 👉👈?
I like the aesthetic of both of these outfits equally but I would prefer to wear the one on the left bc hoodies are warm and comfy. Also I never really liked netting like on the right, it’s uncomfortable to me.
Yeah I know you didn’t mean any harm. Initially I was not entirely aware of that fact as the community has a femboy icon, I assumed it was a mixed community of femboys and transfem due to that fact (maybe it used to be at one point). But I think that makes the point all the more important as a large majority of egging is unintentional as a form of self-validation, in many cases it’s not very harmful on its own but as a whole it can perpetuate harmful gender stereotypes and indirectly lead to the other kind of egging which is directly harmful (i.e. “Oh hon you dress like a girl and act like a girl, stop being in denial and accept that you are trans”). Which is what commonly happens in r/egg_irl (the Reddit one, not the one here at !egg_irl@lemmy.blahaj.zone, the one here doesn’t seem to do it as much).
Point being self deprecating humor is fine, but it’s also important to consider how it affects others, especially when it comes to things like egging which aren’t as widely recognized as issues as they should be (a person who is egged is usually likely to get egged more, when they seek help and support from others as opposed to being affirmed in their identity i.e. “Well it is true that you don’t act or dress like a boy, maybe they have a point [Name redacted]”).
Again none of this is specifically directed at you, I only seek to spread the message so people like us can be less invalidated, especially in queer spaces.
Of coarse, being a Femboy is 100% valid. I know what the post is implying and I’m acknowledging people who identify as male being GNC and liking cute stuff are still valid as their identity, despite some people suggesting otherwise (not saying you’re doing it by the way). I know that egg culture is very much a problem for GNC people and I’d just like to say, give it a rest, don’t they go through enough already, be supportive of them, that means respecting their identity, even if it contradicts your idea of gender stereotypes i.e. a boy who chooses to dress and act cute and feminine but still identifies as male. The important part is how they identify, not how they present.
Oh and I know that people are going to say “But FirstMajesticComet, there’s a line between being a Femboy and being transfem” I would say yes, yes there is, and it’s determined by how they identify, gender identity is self-deterministic, it’s not an outside factor, it’s true because the person says it is. Fighting or arguing against it is invalidating and disrespectful to their identity, keep that in mind.
Here’s a chart showing presentation and how they identify, notice that presentation does not affect or determine identity in this:
I apologize if my comment seemed harsh and cold towards the OP specifically, I have no ill intentions towards them as a person, or even their actions here. I only seek to show how it is important to recognize and respect the identities of GNC people and not crush or invalidate them inadvertently (or intentionally if you think they’re “in-denial”, it’s still invalidating them because you’re not respecting who they say they are) they do not deserve this kind of treatment. Remember the golden rule, treat others the way you want to be treated.
Modding a switch does induce psychosis though.
Nah it’s easy, well once you’re in it’s easy. Getting in can rage from being mildly frustrating to meticulously difficult micro-soldering, I don’t envy Mariko users who need to solder a modchip in, even less Lite and OLED users where the pad is under the chip.
After that part though modding is a Breeze. Honestly most people should just pay to get the chip installed by someone else, takes all the hassle out of it.
Just so you guys know that’s 113 pounds (51.23 kg) of mercury, he’s not just a weakling, that is very heavy even for stronger people.
I know, I love it when people get confused because they can’t tell, though I do wish I didn’t also look like a kid because it’s kinda embarrassing to be asked by someone if my parents know where my parents are because they think I’m 12 or 14. (Should add that’s just bc of my genetics, I haven’t taken anything to change my appearance).
If there was an Agender one with Dopamine it would be more relatable.
Cracking someone else’s egg isn’t great, it violates the egg prime directive. People need to discover themselves on their own. I get that they say some people are “in-denial” and aren’t willing to come out but trying to force them will just make them resist harder, and make them want to do it less.
I feel like this meme must be satire in that regard, as these methods rarely work out as well as portrayed here.
