II would put it the other way around: as long as representative systems exist, it will always be more likely that egoists and narcissists will establish themselves in leadership positions, even if they only make up a small part of the population. Today, this is encouraged by the fact that we reward these character traits, which are actually harmful to the community, with fame, money and prestige.

I get your point. But the question that comes to my mind: Is your experience with the world a reason to devalue his excitement for his ,old boring" quarry? Does one always need to chase the ,best and biggest" things in life to be content an ought to feel imperfect if he/she didn’t experience them? I’m fairly sure you didn’t mean it this way but to me it sounds like you belittle others due to the fact that you believe to know better… and that, frankly said, is also something not to be celebrated.

I don’t mean to attack you but I’m curious weather you thought about these aspects?

I once seriously encountered a guy at the water’s edge who spent about five minutes “reeling in” a snag. It would probably have been noticed much sooner if he hadn’t set his brake so softly that every time he “pumped,” he lost as much line as he then reeled back in… It was funny to watch him.

I think both can be true at the same time. While Irans target as part of the China-Russia-Iran coalition obviosuly cant’t be bombing of Iran I wouldn’t be suprised if there are at least thoughts about letting the US bleed in a war of attrition, especially from the Chinese side. Ot honestly would be rational to make the best use of the situation.

Russia is not budging an inch from its demands, which amount to Ukraine’s surrender without any significant security guarantees and with massive vulnerability to future attacks… and since Russia presumably has dirt on Trump, he is now trying everything to “end” the war by forcing Ukraine to give up its demands and surrender.

Yes, European catfish are now widespread in Europe, even though they originally come from Eastern Europe. (I’m from Germany, and whether catfish are an alien species is still being debated here.)

I’ve personally caught a few smaller ones (and they taste really good, especially hot-smoked ;D), but catching a really big one isn’t that easy, unfortunately. To be honest, I’m a bit jealous of the US for its diversity of catfish species… I think you have at least five species, right? And I always imagine that it should be a little easier to fish in the USA because the population density is not as high as in my home country and therefore the fishing pressure in the individual waters/areas is not so high. But I guess it depends on whether you live in the countryside or near a big city, right?

If you ever go catfish fishing in Europe, the classic spots are the big rivers in Italy and Spain. After catfish were introduced there in the 1970s, they have grown extremely well in the warmer water, but guiding is probably a good idea there. Another tip might be France, where there are also many good catfish stocks and it feels like not everyone is aware of this yet.

Aus meiner Sicht muss das ganze über Steuern quer finanziert werden. Laut den Angaben hier https://www.bundesnetzagentur.de/DE/Fachthemen/ElektrizitaetundGas/Netzentgelte/start.html zahlt die Industrie im Durchschnitt weniger als die pirvaten Endverbraucher. Das ist politsch so gewollt um die Industrie wettbewerbsfähig zu halten. Allerdings kann ich trotzdem nicht nachvollziehen warum die Verbraucher, die mittels PV (und absehbar auch flächendeckend privaten Kleinspeichern) weniger Netzkapazität nutzen jetzt MEHR zahlen sollen obwohl sie absolut WENIGER Leistungen des Betreibers beziehen.

Stromnetzte gehören für mich zur Daseinsvorsorge und als solche sind sie öffentliche Aufgabe, daher scheint mir eine steuerfinanzierte Lösung sinnvoll.

Probematisch wird es allerdings, wenn man gleichzeitig Industrie und wohlhabenden Steuererleichterungen verspricht… von einer Wiedereinführung der Vermögenssteuer oder wenigstens einem Angleichen von Kapitalertrags und -lohnsteuer mal ganz zu schweigen. Ich befrüchte mit Frau Reiche wird es zu einer weiteren Umverteilung von unten nach oben kommen da die Belastungen durch die Finanzierung öffentlicher Daseinsvorsorge weiter von oben nach untern verschoben werden.
