Odd comparing to what? Two rounds is the way to ensure the president has a majority: first you vote for who you want, second time you veto. This is how you elect presidents in countries like France, Brazil, Romania, Portugal…it makes sense :)
PS: Macron did not resign, these are not presidential elections, this is a legislative election only.
Just one more “o”, maybe it will be there…
Wouldn’t aerosols reduce solar irradiance globally, hence reducing the rate of photosynthesis globally…which further reduces natural CO2 capture? How would that help?
I think this explains his stance a bit https://piped.kavin.rocks/watch?v=rRDEkMAcwrQ I agree with some bits (because code quality does matter more than being nice when it is your profession), disagree with some (because being a grumpy idiot will harm your ability to build on collaborative projects).
PS: but yea, then there is also the video about the tech industry where he cherrypicks outrage and contradicts himself and agrees that Linus is rude and divisive…which sort of discredits him, because he only seems to like angry but competent people when they agree with him.
That actually sounds good, I just dont know how they will spread salt periodically over the millions of square kms needed to make a difference on the Pacific’s albedo without a huge carbon footprint.

Lemmy in web 1 would have been like geocities: website replies to website message from link
Lemmy in web 2 is Lemmy
Lemmy in web 3 is Lemmy with an instant cryptocurrency/liberapay tipping button in each post/comment, like steemit 7 years ago?
Lemme quickly ruin it for you: trump was a “lib” until circa 2009…

Some of these people from “opposite” political poles are not that different in their actual views…what differs is the means they use and how they position themselves to capture sections of the electorate…which sometimes just ends up feeling like a uniparty…
They did that because of Fukushima and some sociological factors in the german population (which maybe come from Chernobyl’s time too)…I’m sure they regretted putting all chips on gas after the invasion of Ukraine…but then again with what is happening in the ZNPP, I’m not so sure anymore. Germany is not in a seismic zone, but it is in the European plain after all, which is a recurrent geopolitical problem.
Good, green and security goals align with weaning off cheap russian fossil fuels, this will be good for energy independence in the long term.
