Looking at this question through geological lenses it’s quiet simple: they want the resources underneath the ice. Under the ice there are deposits with quality that is pretty unheard of for todays day and age. You see during the Bronze ago we humans used up ore deposits that were around 20-40% Copper/Tin, but as we continued needing resources we used those deposits up and started using deposits that only had 1% of resources and so on. If I’m not mistaken we are down to mostly around using deposits that range somewhere around 0.1% of the actual mineral we want. Here comes the near part about Greenland: There is a lot of ice that made it impossible for any human in history to get to those deposits, even more so to mine them. So once the ice is gone you will provably find deposits of bronze age quality, which is just amazing as mining these things gets like 100 fold easier :D Oh and also I think the USGS estimated that there are like 30+ Billion barrel of oil under Greenland Source: I’m doing a bachelors in geology and this was part of one of my lectures, its been a while though so I fear I might have gotten things wrong, not sure though. Haven’t played yet but gotta say from the outside it looks like it has some some cool gameplay loops to go into.

What gets me personally super duper hyped is the possibilities of how incredibly interconnected the will be with all the other game systems. Like this is at the minimum a medium to big area expansion and not just for sailing only but all the islands that are created with it that have different stuff like slayer cave, woodcut etc.

Tbh it’s a yes and no for me. That things just get destroyed is not the best solution, 100%. But only preventing it on walkable tiles would result in a huge mess with what can be placed where I think and that just looks janky then. Personally I would be all out for a “no placing things outside of the farm” rule. Like obviously a few exeptions when its story relevant but otherwise I just don’t see the point.

Sorry but that is just not true. The CDU/CSU is as close to fascism as they can be while trying to keep the mantle of a centrist party, like they colluded with the fascist noAfD already. Also Friedrich Merz’s grandfather was a Nazi. He was a mayor of the only town that had a Workers Strike when the NSDAP came into power. And he violently beat that Strike town to the core, so that certainty gives a vibe to Friedrich. So yeah maybe the noAfD is the more open fascist party but don’t think the CDU/CSU is far from it, they are in many points just as bad or worst them the noAfD and Trump endorsing them actually feels right.

I was wondering: Do crows exist on ginger island? Alas do I need scarecrows or not?

A week ago I asked about finding golden walnuts and so far I found ~85 and I’m thinking about paying the parot or looking the rest ulnar this point because I am once again very very lost, feels like I looked everywhere. But outside of ginger island its going amazing, just got into year 3 and got my statue of perfection, very cool, and also I got only like 10 Villagers left till I have full hearts with everyone so I’m working on that now. Also I’m preparing to shift my money making away from sheeps and into ancient fruit on ginger island, which is exiting hehe.

I have a bit of a question about Golden wallnuts, I know I could easily look this up but I don’t wanna full on spoil myself so I’m asking here to get a vague answer as to not 100% spoil myself. How do I get them? So far I only got some killing monsters and I’m kinda lost as to how to get more? After binging around new year I kinda lost time to play as real life did some catch up with me, but things are still going well when i get the opportunity to play. Currently I’m year 2 Summer and I just married Alex, finished the community center, am planing to go to ginger island soon and I’m spending a lot of time gifting everyone lots of gifts. Gift giving is an interesting gameplay loop that I kinda never did so far and I’m amazed how much time I’m spending with just running around and gifting people, like it feels stupid and meaningless because it uses so much time and at the same time it’s super cool and funny and I genuinely love all the little acts of kindness and reactions and figuring out (well going to the wiki) who loves/likes what. Also can’t wait for grandpa evaluation as I want that statue of perfection because I just HATE skull cavern. Damn writing this really gave me the mood to play again here is to hoping I can squeeze that one in the next couple of days :3

Tbh I feel like Linus wouldn’t want to that. I see Linus as someone who very much chooses to live the live he lives, living in a tent and such so I doubt you would get him on board to get a house in the town

First time playing since the update and its just nice and relaxed. Playing meadows farm and I’m just loving the animals, I really like the daily chores they give me since that makes every day at least a bit eventfull and also the constant stream of cash is also really really nice :D In general this is also my first playthrough where I want to build a pretty farm and where I’m actually at least a bit successful because I want my animals to have a nice habitat ^^ Currently halfway through winter year one and I’m only missing the rare fruit bundle to finish the community centre. could have done that bundle in like summer already and been done a couple of days ago and already be on ginger island but eh it is what is, just using this time now to settle everything a bit more on the farm before I approach ginger island for the first time :)

I’m about to start a new playthrough. Haven’t played in ~2 years and I’m still completely in the dark what the last update brought do I’m kinda exited to play and just see where this goes :) Also I never really saw the endgame, mostly stopped playing at around midgame so I kinda wanna commit to that this time :)

In vulcano seismology there is this fun little thing called a tremor and its really annoying but also really mysterious as no one knows where it is coming from or what cases it. I’ve had multiple people try to explain it or I was listenin to talks about it and I have yet to hear solidly overlapping theories. Also not only does the signal look different at every single opportunity (aka every vulcano) that you to look at it, it also hides within a frequency range that is mostly overlapped with random background signal. So to look at it you need to do analzye your seismometers for a directional eigenvalue (not sure if its the correct word or even the only what its just what I’m doing. I’m normally German speaking but what we do is look at the seismometers and whether or nor all or most of the signals are comming from the same direction) so that you can even detect it, meanin just to look at it you already need some statistics.

Not really sure where I’m going with this I just find this concept really really and I’m just once again baffled that we simply do not know about things in science.
