  • Having dicked around with Local LLMs, they do get better the more they learn about you. But going through what these things figure out is kind of horrifying.

Like looking into the training data they find out, they can infer a lot about you and your methodology and it is creepy. Like really creepy.

I’m not anti-AI by any means. I have a Local LLM Agent in my router to keep an eye on things in case anything fucks up and it’s pretty good as my little administrator, but still. It knows a lot about me to the point I had to catch myself to not fucking call it “he” or “they.” It’s an object but it’s an object with a frightening amount of info on me. I just wish the average populace had this level of think of what you are giving up.

If you’re not that techy… well first, what the fuck are you doing on Lemmy and on the Tech server? But then I want you to think about this. If someone stalked you for a week, what could they find out about you? How much do you think they would learn?

That is how these huge companies are and especially AI. They’re stalkers who manage to learn a lot about you by just observing you.

  • Ain’t no way I will ever try Gentoo. I don’t even know what “compiling from source” means or what the difference between that an “binaries” are.

You know, it is shocking I work IT when I barely understand tech at all. Though to be fair I am a help desk guy. I have Google IT Support, ITIL 4 Foundation, CCNA, and Security+ so I know some stuff. Kind of. A bit.

    I should just take that Linux+ class shouldn’t I?

  • Wait, you guys learned linux by reading about it? I just flashed that puppy up (the distros I have used are Slackware, DSL, Ubuntu, Arch, Void, Mint, Bazzite, SteamOS, Nobara, and then back to Mint which I am on now) and hoped to god I’d figure it out as I went along. Thank fucking GOD for the man command. That shit is a lifesaver.

I still know next to nothing about Linux lol. All my knowledge is raw muscle memory.

  • Yeah. It goes from funny toilet head man thing into this weird war between the toilets and camera head people and soon just turns into giant ass mech fights. My niece herself said she thinks the series is an allegory for arms races and, tbh, I cannot fault her for it because the later episodes get really wild and pretty well animated.

As for the creator, DaFuqBoom!, yeah he has made some weird stuff in the past includes jokes against George Floyd. Why would a Georgian, the country not the state, joke about that? I have no idea. And also he was fucked over by Invisible Narratives who took all the rights from the series, took all the adsense dollars he made, and also took all the money from the deals he made.

Like as shitty as a person as he is, I can’t help but feel bad. I assumed he was rolling in it, but he’s broke and has seen 0 return from the popularity of his series because of an unfair contract. Finding that out just felt weird. Like there’s this much cloak and dagger about the funny toilet vs camera show? What a time to be alive.

Skibidi Toilet isn’t really a comedy tho. It’s just giant mech fights and apparently the creator of it, some racist Georgian🇬🇪 zoomer lost all the rights to it after being fucked over by some company he signed a contract with.

Yeah, wild lore both in the show itself and in the background. Got into it because my niece fucking loves it and just… no shit, it is a wild time.
