Isn’t this a known torture technique? Except normally the family being tortured or killed is simulated and the tortured person is on drugs to make it feel real. They legitimately just did it for real.

My theory was that it surged in popularity after some major porn sites got threatened by their payment processors and decided to clean up underage and underage-adjacent videos. So people who are young enough to still live with their siblings or their parents became as close as someone could get to saying, “this person is immature and vulnerable” without getting their account moderated.

Quality school lunch in the US is like universal healthcare in the US. Every other western nation seems to manage at least a bare minimum yet we just simply can’t afford it for some reason.

I used to listen to this guy’s show sometimes during the Obama admin because I was in my debate pervert phase and the conservative talk radio station was as close as you could get to valid political discussion in my area. He just yells. That’s his schtick. I’d almost always turn it off after a few minutes because his voice was whiney and annoying. Lemmy is being used to as a free source of data to train AI. Much more important as far as Trump is concerned (as if he knows about us at all). If you don’t believe me, feel free to ask ChatGPT about which Lemmy instances it knows about. It can even produce posts which fit the tone of particular instances.
